Our clients, both avid gardeners, purchased an adjoining property next to their North Berkeley home in order to expand their garden and provide a comfortable place to stay for out of town family and guests. During the design process, we discovered possibilities that better suited their future needs than their existing home. Moving forward with their new vision, we transformed a traditional 1920’s gambrel style house into a modern multi-level home incorporating an outdoor entertaining area, decks and balconies, a large kitchen on the main level and a separate canning kitchen below to support their garden to table lifestyle.
